Napp och nytt 1948
I have most English Tight Lines and Swedish examples to share here. I do have quite a collection of doubles in many languages to swap. My most recent and treasured paper acquisition was this group of professionally bound ABU Tight Lines catalogs starting from the beginning here in , obviously omitting as it was never printed, and ending with I would like to acquire the next few volumes from to when the Tight Lines ceased to be published.
If you can help, please contact me via this site abuadmiral gmail. While the original Swedish first sales advice re ABU products appeared from , the first able to be read by rest of the English speaking world was the Record Fishing Tackle , followed by the " You Can Rely of Record" and the official English language Tight Lines Catalogs for nearly the next 50 years.
Of course, the Swedish "Napp och Nytt" started in and still continue to this day. Now confirmed that this catalog was never printed. TL does NOT exist.
Record and ABU Catalogs
I mages kindly supplied by Sven Eriksson Gothenburg. Full catalog scans will be released each year on their 5oth Anniversary. My personal connection with ABU started via lures from and the Tight lines catalogs available in local tackle stores.
This trade catalog below , I never knew about until a couple of years's ago , when I just bought it from Anders in Sweden. There is a lot of useful info despite being in Swedish within, and I learned that the Toby BGL which I loved using, was just released this year. I was using it and Hilo as my first ABU lure experiences. I never saw the first style Killers here in Australia, mainly due to limited range at my local fishing tacklle outlets.
Record and ABU Catalogs
They were available in the big cities, I have since learned. These pages were primarily intended for staff at retail sales points. Click on each for complete page scans. Numerous Phamplets, catalogs, booklets, fliers over time and place , were informative and tastefully compiled to attract and interest fishers. Behind the Iron Curtain in Russia. Some fine examples of the Swedish ABU Tackle Catalogs from the start in are wonderful to read and imagine flicking through the pages and making tackle decisions of the year.
I own many but friend Mikael Risberg has kindly let me use his previously scanned Napp och Nytt front covers to to save me many hours work!
Welcome to
I now own most copies of the English Tight Lines and all Swedish Napp och Nytt catalogues and have some in double and would love to swap my doubles for ABU Record items of interest to me. I am intrigued at knowing the full extent of ABU's global domination of the fishing world brought about by the production and distribution of their free catalogs.
I would love to secure a copy of these highlighted in red to share here. Perhaps there are more? English Swedish. Norwegian Finnish. Italian catalog named Tight Lines. German Petri Heil. Portuguese to appear here soon. Spanish and Russian needed. Polish needed Czech needed. Some ABU Catalog anomolies here. From and today there is all in Norwegian.
